The Operations Manager of Social Space/Coworking is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the coworking facility, ensuring a positive and collaborative environment for tenants, visitors, and staff. This role involves overseeing daily operations, implementing strategic initiatives, and fostering a vibrant community within the coworking space.

About the Space

Nour Space – Masahet Nour is the first of its kind social space/coworking and innovation hub put at the service of young people, students and companies in Tripoli, North Lebanon. The space is comprised of 3 floors of around 2,000 sqm in the heart of Tripoli, Sahet Al Nour, divided into a social space, coworking spaces and offices, Training venues and free innovation spaces.

The space is one of the flagship projects of LASeR, The Lebanese Association for Scientific Research. Now in its final stages, Nour Space – Masahet Nour is opening its doors officially on the first of February 2024.

We are currently looking for someone to join our team, to manage the space and help it grow and serve the community of our dear Tripoli.

The role of the Operations Manager involves overseeing the overall operations and strategic direction of the space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the coworking space in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Explore and pursue opportunities for expansion, partnerships, and new business development
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of the coworking space, including facilities management, security, and maintenance.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary resources and amenities for tenants.
  • Implement and optimize processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to position the space among the active community hubs in Lebanon.
  • Build partnerships with the corporate sector, organizations, universities and stakeholders relevant to the space.
  • Run events that further position the space as a hub for young talents and interesting initiatives in the city.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative community atmosphere among coworking members.
  • Address community inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Organize events and activities to encourage networking and collaboration.
  • Develop and manage budgets for the coworking space, ensuring financial sustainability (The space is under a non-profit organization; however, it runs like a business entity and the person we are looking for is responsible to run it as such).
  • Monitor revenue streams, including membership fees, event rentals, and additional services.
  • Identify different revenue streams and innovate in the business model itself.
  • Work with the marketing team to promote the coworking space and make the space a brand that the community love, trust and take ownership of.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase occupancy rates.
  • Represent the coworking space at industry events and networking functions.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and legal requirements.
  • Draft and review lease agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Stay ahead of technological advancements relevant to coworking spaces.
  • Implement and manage technological solutions that enhance the coworking experience.
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff to deliver high-quality services.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work culture within the coworking space.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, hospitality, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in operations and management, preferably in a coworking or hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills (You will be dealing with a lot of people, team and community)
  • Knowledge of real estate, property management, and relevant regulations.
  • Familiarity with coworking industry trends and best practices.
